Thousands of Nissan vehicles with faulty fuel pumps recalled in the US

An amount of 76,242 previous models of Nissan Sports Utility Vehicles (SUV) in the U.S. were recalled due to faulty fuel pumps that may potentially increase the risk of accidents, an article of reported on April 10.

Reports said the fuel pumps in the 2014 model of the Nissan Rouge may suddenly fail during operation, causing the car to stall. Documents submitted by the automaker to the federal auto safety agency stated that the fuel pump problem was caused by a wrongful nickel plating installed on the components. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) confirmed that the problem may increase the risk of vehicular accidents. Dealers will coordinate with the owners of affected vehicles this month to change their fuel pumps. Nissan stated that they are unaware of any accidents or injuries involving the recalled Rouge SUVs.
