Bill seeks to increase speed limit on Wisconsin freeways

Lawmakers in Wisconsin are proposing to raise the driving speed limit on the freeways, FOX 21 stated on January 19.

Reports said state lawmakers are proposing to add 5mph onto the current 65mph freeway speed limit. Though the bill was rejected by the Senate last year, Wisconsin lawmakers are attempting to set the driving speed limit of 70mph on state freeways. However, opinions of drivers, lawmakers, and police vary regarding the proposed bill. Superior Police Deputy Chief Matt Markon said that increasing the driving speed limit may also result in increased injuries and deaths. The state is one of 12 states in the US with a freeway speed limit of 65 mph.

People unfortunately suffer serious or even fatal injuries in car accidents caused by drivers traveling at an excessive speed. However, if you are in such a situation, you may be able to hold the responsible driver financially accountable with the help of a personal injury attorney.
