Honda issues recall on GL 1800 motorcycles once again

Honda recently reissued a recall on over 120,000 GL 1800 model motorcycles due to a rear brake issue, The New York Times reported on September 8.

The recall involves 126,000 2001-2010 and 2012 models, which may have rear brakes that can drag and start a fire. Although Honda initially issued this recall in December 2011, it was reissued  after the first recall was deemed ineffective by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, as complaints and incidents did not stop. Honda stated that they have received 533 complaints on brake drags and four fire incidents involving affected motorcycles since the first recall. Fortunately, Honda also stated that they were not aware of any injuries or crashes related to the issue.
