GM recall to be investigated by Congress

An investigation will be conducted by the House Energy and Commerce Committee to determine why General Motors took almost a decade before recalling 1.6 million defective vehicles.

On March 10, Michigan State Representative, Fred Upton said that Congress is researching whether or not GM’s actions have complied with the Tread Act of 2000. The recalled GM vehicles have defective ignition starters that are linked to dozens of accidents and 13 deaths.
