3 injured in Lakewood car crash, 1 seriously

A two-vehicle accident involving two female drivers and a passenger occurred in Lakewood on Sunday morning, July 7. According to a report made by the Oconto County Sheriff’s Department, one of the drivers was seriously injured and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The crash took place around 1:35am along Highway 32 near North Cage Street.

The seriously injured woman was said to be driving northbound in a 1994 Chevrolet Blazer when she lost control while trying to negotiate a curve and hit the other woman who was driving westbound in a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado pickup. The woman driving the Silverado and the male Blazer passenger suffered minor injuries but were not taken to the hospital.

Police cited the woman driving the Blazer with reckless driving and speeding.
