Oshkosh Man Found Guilty in Fatal Car Accident

A jury found 32 year old Justin W. VanDera guilty of 6 different criminal charges, including homicide by negligent operation of a motor vehicle, causing death while operating a motor vehicle after revocation, second-degree reckless endangerment,  and three misdemeanor counts of skipping bail.

It took less than 3 hours for the jury to decide Vandera’s guilt in the death of Larry Lambrecht, 58, of Oshkosh as a result of causing a multiple-vehicle crash on State 44.

Prosecutors claimed VanDera was traveling west beyond the speed limit when he crossed into the eastbound lane numerous times to pass by other cars. The maneuver caused Lambrecht, who was traveling east, to swerve and lose control, hitting a westbound vehicle in the process.

VanDera was sentenced to 23 years imprisonment and fined $92,500.

The loss of a loved one is never easy, and the thoughts and condolences of our attorneys at Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. go out to the family and friends of Lambrecht.
