Highway S car accident leaves four people injured

A three-car accident on Highway S last Thursday has left a person in critical condition and three others injured.

The driver of a Chevrolet Lumina failed to see a Hyundai Elantra that was stopped in an eastbound lane of the highway, indicating that he may have been distracted. The Elantra was waiting for an opportunity to make a left turn across the westbound lane. The Lumina failed to notice and rear-ended the Elantra. The impact of the crash sent it into the westbound lane, where an oncoming Ford Ranger smashed into the passenger-side door.

The person in the Elantra’s passenger seat suffered life-threatening injuries. The three drivers were each taken to separate medical facilities.
