Police arrest man who injured woman, killed dog in hit-and-run

The 29-year-old Milwaukee man who injured a woman and killed her service dog in a hit-and-run accident has been apprehended by authorities. The accident occurred last week in Waukesha while the woman was crossing the street at a crosswalk.

She says she was walking with her service dog when an SUV suddenly blew through the intersection, struck her, and then sped off. She suffered a broken foot in the accident, the Journal Sentinel reports.

With witnesses’ descriptions, police were able to find the SUV and the driver the next day. He has been charged with felony hit-and-run causing bodily injury, driving without insurance, and failing to yield the right-of-way.
