Drunk driver causes head-on collision

A drunk driver traveling the wrong way on Highway 41 near County Highway BB caused a head-on crash, which injured him and two other people. The accident happened last week in Appleton.

According to officials at the Wisconsin State Patrol, the driver and passenger of the struck vehicle were taken to Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. The 42 year-old driver suffered minor injuries but his 31 year-old passenger had to be flown to Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee due to his life-threatening injuries.

The 33 year-old drunk driver suffered minor injuries. He fled from the scene but was found soon afterwards. Authorities have charged him with driving while intoxicated, hit-and-run causing great bodily harm, and driving without a license causing great bodily harm.
