Motorcycle crash sends man to the hospital

A motorcycle-car accident Sunday afternoon in Racine sent the motorcyclist to the hospital in critical condition. The Mount Pleasant man was taken to the trauma center at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa with serious head injuries.

Police say the 41 year-old man was trying to go around a car that had slowed down to take a right-hand turn when he passed the car on the right. The two collided and the motorcyclist was thrown from his bike. Authorities believe speed may have been a factor.

No citations have been issued at this time as the accident is still under investigation.
