Fleeing driver causes I-94 accident

A driver fleeing from police caused an accident on Interstate 94 Saturday morning near Hammond.

Just after two, officers received reports of a wrong-way driver heading eastbound in the westbound lanes. Hammond police put down tire deflation devices, but the 27 year-old driver was only stopped after colliding with another vehicle. The driver of the other car, a 41 year-old Bloomington, Minnesota man, suffered minor injuries.

Authorities arrested the runaway driver and he faces charges of fleeing from police, reckless driving, driving without a valid license, driving the wrong way, eluding causing bodily harm, and endangering safety. The crash is currently under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
