Thousands of police cruisers recalled by Chrysler

Chrysler Group, LLC is recalling nearly 10,000 Dodge Charger police cruisers due to electrical defects, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Possible issues in the anti-lock break functions and low-beam headlights are the cause for the recall. The automaker believes overheating in the bulb harness connector could cause headlight problems. The overheating could also negatively affect the anti-lock break and electronic stability control functions.

There have been no reports of accidents or injuries in relation to these defects. Chrysler will start accepting 2011 and 2012 police Dodge Chargers next month and will repair them for free.
