Point guard for UWM arrested

A senior basketball player for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee was arrested last week for driving while intoxicated. Kaylon Williams, 22, was home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, when police pulled him over for not having a front license plate. Williams sped off once the officer approached his vehicle.

After missing a turn, Williams’ car went off the road. He tried to run away on foot, but was caught by K-9 police dogs a couple of blocks away. Test results showed his blood alcohol level was .228, almost three times over the legal limit. Police charged the student with drunk driving, interference, driving without insurance, and driving without a license plate.

Many consider Williams a major player in the Panthers’ run for the Horizon League season title.
