3-car crash caused by speeding driver, 4 injured

An 3-car accident occurred in Racine on Sunday night that resulted in the injuries of four people. The accident is thought to be caused by a speeding driver who may have been drinking prior to the crash.

According to reports, an Oldsmobile Cutlass was traveling at 50 miles per hour on 3 Mile Road when it hit a Chevrolet Malibu that was exiting a parking lot. The impact of the collission pushed the Malibu into another parking lot fifty feet away where it hit a parked car.

The driver of the Malibu had to be extricated from the vehicle and taken to a local hospital where she was treated for significant injuries. The three people in the Cutlass also suffered minor to significant injuries and were taken to hospitals. The driver of the Cutlass may be charged with speeding before the accident, pending further investigation.
