Kenosha teenager killed in single-vehicle crash

The Racine County Sheriff’s Department reports that last week a 16-year-old Kenosha girl was killed in a one-vehicle crash.

Around 1:16 AM Sunday police responded to reports of a car crashed into a tree near the 3500 block of Taylor Avenue, at Elm Tree Court.

The 16-year-old girl was killed in the crash while the 18-year-old male driver was critically injured. Both were extricated by the South Shore rescue unit.

The male was taken to Froedtert Hostpial in Wauwatosa where he remains.

Authorities believe speeding to have been a factor in the accident and have not yet determined if alcohol was involved.
