High-speed chase suspect appears in court

A 33-year-old man made his first court appearance Wednesday in connection with a high-speed chase that led police across Northeast Wisconsin.

The man has been charged with drunken driving, reckless endangerment of safety, eluding police, and operating without a valid driver’s license. Authorities say the chase began when they received reports of a woman being pulled into a van. When the van was located, the driver took off.

Police managed to ram the van with a squad car near Shawano, ending the chase. The woman in the van was not hurt.
