This past Tuesday morning, a chain-reaction car accident involving 11 vehicles occurred on the I-90 bridge in La Crosse over the Mississippi River.

The Wisconsin State Patrol reported that the accident happened at around 7 A.M. when a driver traveling in the eastbound lanes was trying to pass another vehicle.  The driver lost control of their vehicle and crashed into the car in front of it.  9 other vehicles were subsequently involved in minor collisions trying to avoid the initial two-vehicle crash.

Both eastbound and westbound lanes of the highway were blocked by the vehicles, emergency crews and clean-up crews for nearly an hour and a half.  One driver in the accident was taken to a nearby hospital for unknown injuries.
