Drunk driver faces jail time for injuring young boy

John Krizenesky, 65, was sentenced to one month in jail and two years of probation after pleading guilty to one count of felony drunk driving.

The charge is related to a July 2013 drunk driving accident that resulted in the injury of 8-year-old, Malachi Blanke. While under the influence, Krizenesky drove into a utility pole. The impact of the crash caused power lines connected to the utility pole to fall onto Blanke.

Blanke sustained serious burn injuries because of the accident. He has undergone multiple surgeries to address his injuries.

When people drive drunk they endanger the well being of others. If you have sustained injuries caused by the recklessness of a drunk driver, you should not be responsible for covering the cost of physical injuries or property damage.
